Payday loans in Mississauga: shift work, weekly pay and Ontario rules
Between Pearson airport, the warehouses along the 401 and the head offices in the city centre, Mississauga runs on very different pay schedules. Here’s how a payday loan fits around yours.

Short answer
Yes. Mississauga residents can apply online for payday loans of $100 to $1,500 from Ontario-licensed lenders, usually funded by Interac e-Transfer. Ontario’s rules apply: the cost is capped at $14 per $100, a loan can be no more than half your net pay, and you have two business days to cancel. Ontario Works in Mississauga is delivered by the Region of Peel, which can help with emergency costs.
How payday loans work in Mississauga
Mississauga residents apply online with Ontario-licensed payday lenders and receive funds by Interac e-Transfer. The city has one of the largest employment bases in Ontario outside Toronto, with logistics, aviation, manufacturing and corporate offices. That means a lot of weekly pay, agency work and rotating shifts, and each of those changes how a payday loan behaves.
What’s different about borrowing in Mississauga
Weekly pay means short loans. Many warehouse and agency jobs pay weekly. Your loan will be due in about seven days, and the limit is half of one week’s take-home pay, so loans are smaller and the APR looks higher.
Agency and temp work. If you’re placed through a staffing agency, lenders treat the agency as your employer. Use the account where the agency deposits your pay.
Overtime is not income you can count on. Base your loan on your regular hours. If overtime dries up the week your loan is due, the repayment can bounce.
A Malton example
Rohan works rotating shifts at a distribution centre, paid weekly, about $820 take-home. His Ontario limit is $410. He borrows $300 for a brake job and repays $342 seven days later, a cost of $42, but only after checking that next week’s schedule has his usual hours.
An illustration with an invented borrower. Your limit and cost depend on your own pay and lender.
