My passion for caring for others and end-of-life care prompted me to join Jessica’s House Hospice’s team in May, 2018. I have been a nurse for over 20 years, mostly in acute care, but have always had a spot in my heart to care for people while they are dying.
Supporting and listening to people’s stories are what attracted me to end-of-life care, and because I have lived in the Exeter area my entire life and have two wonderful children, what better way to give back to my community?
As the Executive Director, my hope is that our team can provide compassionate care for those who have been affected by a life-limiting illness from their diagnosis and to those caregivers after the death as well.

My name is Grace Winbow and I am the Coordinator of Volunteers and Bereavement Services at Jessica's House Hospice. I have been working at JHH since April 2022 and am committed to providing compassionate grief support to those in our community. I recognized the value of hospice and bereavement support in our community as I watched the development of Jessica's House Hospice as a community member, then volunteer. As a result, I directed my studies to become a part of this important work; I graduated with a BA in Thanatology and Family Studies and have since obtained a Certification in Children's Grief and Bereavement. Every death, dying, grief, and loss experience is unique, I am here to provide a safe and compassionate space for people during their most challenging moments.
Meghan O’Rourke
Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Hello, I'm the marketing and communications coordinator at Jessica's House Hospice. My official role began in May 2023, but my connection with Jessica's House runs deep, as I had been a dedicated volunteer for many years prior to joining the team.
My educational background reflects my passion for effective communication and compassionate care. I studied advertising at St. Lawrence College, where I honed my skills in crafting compelling narratives and engaging campaigns. However, my commitment to understanding the profound aspects of end-of-life care led me to pursue a degree in Thanatology at Kings College University, in collaboration with Western University and my Death Doula Certification through Douglas College. Combining these diverse areas of study has allowed me to bring a unique perspective to my role.
Every family, visitor, staff and volunteer have a unique narrative to tell, and I am privileged to be JHH’s storyteller to illustrate the beauty and warmth that hospice care brings to so many lives. Along with showcasing the incredible support our we receive through donations and events.
